Oh the Reverend! I don't think you can go wrong with these guys. Especially now that their a little past that damn swing trend. This album covers an array of moods/subjects, including but not limited to the following: getting wasted, calling in sick, death & heaven, heroin, etc. All tracks are good. Might I reccomend you try: 3,4,7,9,11.
1) A breezy little instrumental diddy. Reminds me a bit of the King of the Hill theme song?
2) Dusty, title track to the album. Trademark Reverend guitar licks.
)*Funny ass song about calling in sick after a night of getting shitty. Upbeat and rock a boogie baby! Blazing guitar boogie.
)*Busy number about rhythm & soul. Blistering guitar. Swing Yo Partner round & round.
)Loungy vocals, track about girls in NYC. Relatively tame.
)High energy track. Vocals tell of loosing friends to heroin. A rocking selection.
)*A pretty touching country song. Real laid back and retrospective. I do believe it's about the Reverend loosing his mother.
)Another upbeat and rockin #.Guitars take me back to the batman theme song?
)*The piano's smoking! Ripping guitars intermingle with these blistering keys.
)Bluesy. Lyrics about having kids & a tractor, and working at the honky tonk.
)*Way chill, down & out blues/country/rock. Hear his pain in what his hands strum.
)Song about being someone's pet rock.
)The Rev. tears loose on this one. Sings about rolling up and down the interstate.
)One of the few slow tracks on the album. Hazy and moody. Tuck the kids in with this.
)Way short, loud and banging.Gritty vocals about going home someday, and playing only so many notes in so many bars.
