Hoo boy, this is a local “Christian Rock” outfit. Uh huh. Okay, they don’t let on anywhere that they aren’t serious, even on their one-sheet and website (quite the contrary!). And a more trusting person might think, “okay, a dirty-garage-rock born-again band…I’ve seen Christian Metal, this isn’t surprising”. If you want to believe that, go ahead. I dont mean to pop your bubble. Actually, its funner if you believe it. If you pull the buckets off their heads (look at the photo under this review) you might find some infamous local rockers, but of course then again you might not. Aside from all that, the music is dirty produced high/low quality raw garage style, rawk muthf**ker. Think Spastics, Bobbyteens, Ghosts, Flakes, et al. The lyrics would make Jerry Falwell proud. And it the whole thing makes me laugh my goddamn ass off. Every track is a splendid winner.
1) biblical spoken intro, upbeat rawk with historical lesson on the Christian fish symbol, sounds sorta like Sonic Reducer
2) “real cool time” line, boogie garagey about Jesus having risen and doing fine
3) upbeat rawkin garage rock
4) “E” is for evil, a song that slams the use of Ecstasy in a reefer madness way
5) a slam on the Rolling Stones sympathy for the devil, upbeat 12 bar boogie rock
6) oh god, “my way is the highway to my lord”
7) 60’s garage rocker feel really comes through
8) twangy swampy cowpunk ditty, anti-evolution theme, hilarious
9) upbeat rocker with nice brief spoken outro
10) surfy rocker, band “theme song”
11) twangy spaghetti western intro, turns upbeat rocker
12) quieter, organ/tambourine 60’s psyche love song about the “dangers of dating”
13) gospel rocker feel, real upbeat and perfect, can I get an “Amen”?
