Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2004-11-02
Starts off with some rip roaring punk and roll, but unfortunately those songs are not FCC friendly. Aside from that this stuff devolves quickly into the pop punk realm, good though (nothing worse than cookie cutter pop punk –ed.). Better songs poke fun at teen angst, hipster musicians, but again most of those have potty mouth. Too bad. Still though, theres some great tracks in here to fill that painful punk/rock cavity. See below for FCC tracks.

FCCs: 1, 2, 3, 6, 9

Safe Songs:
4) pop punk ballady, political
5) pop punk quintessential teen angst “nobody likes me” ballad, laughable if its serious
7) sung en espanol, upbeat punk pop and roll
8) driving 2/4 near hardcore instrumental
10) “skate tough or go home, dude”, upbeat, melodic, taking on the skaters now
11) pop punk delivery, sappy love song, would be gross is if you didn’t know they were being ironic
12) just like the previous track, over the top sappy love song lyrics…I just had a horrific thought: what if these guys were serious? This is pretty dreadful
