Douglas / Sclavis / Lee / Van Der Schyff – Bow River Falls

Nice combo of improvisers from around the world, playing a unique style of beautiful, hushed, ECM-style jazz. Rather than just being a jam session, they’ve managed to create an excellent group sound that’s more than the sum of its parts. An excellent album!

**1. Light, bouncy head leads to intense solos
2. Quiet ballad with washes of static
*3. Slow, rolling tempo, almost bluesy solos
4. Creaky, mechanical and skittery with good electronics
*5. Mellow near-swing
*6. Hushed start, builds to lively solos
*7. Lush soundscape
*8. Speedy, jumpy fragments of melody
**9. Jazzy, exotic slow swing
10. Breathy and sparse with lots of squeaky chirping electronics
11. Med tempo swing, solos build to craziness.
