Solo acoustic bass, in a musical but minimal/artsy mode that wouldn't be out of place in a Laurie Anderson / Philip Glass kind of world. Many tracks latch onto one sound/riff, often a fast-clip splash of notes, and repeat that sound with small variations along the way. Cool stuff; don't be frightened away by the "solo bass" stigma. 1- Fast, rushing bowed notes, very "waterfall" like 2- A cool jazz walk, slow and spare 3- Fast-pulsing drone. 4- Fast jiggling 5- Bouncing minor-key rhythm, kind of slow 6- A reprise of #1, maybe with a bit more drama 7- Moody. Slow and squeaky. 8- Mournful and singing. A beautiful little piece. 9- A swinging encore: A pizzacato jazz standard | ||
