Solo acoustic bass, in a musical but minimal/artsy mode that wouldn't be out of place in a Laurie Anderson / Philip Glass kind of world. Many tracks latch onto one sound/riff, often a fast-clip splash of notes, and repeat that sound with small variations along the way. |
Cool stuff; don't be frightened away by the "solo bass" stigma.
- Fast, rushing bowed notes, very "waterfall" like
- A cool jazz walk, slow and spare
- Fast-pulsing drone.
- Fast jiggling
- Bouncing minor-key rhythm, kind of slow
- A reprise of #1, maybe with a bit more drama
- Moody. Slow and squeaky.
- Mournful and singing. A beautiful little piece.
- A swinging encore: A pizzacato jazz standard
