Promo artist album from the UK. Brainy breakbeat. Nothing peak-hour about this; more like the Junior Boys record I just reviewed, except here the drum programming is rudimentary and the synth sounds take center stage instead. I prefer more polished production and catchy loops; nonetheless this is creative and tasteful. Really like the retro flavor to the album. Everybody’s gotten the memo about electro it seems…
Personal favs: 4 and 10

Track 1: Light breaks with synth swells, delays & techy effects.
Track 2: Chilled breakbeats with synths sounding like a $10 Casio (not necessarily a bad thing).
Track 3: Ringing, bell-like arpeggios & decent bassline. Female vox loop.
Track 4: Good & funky. One of the better tracks. Soaring whistle-like melody.
Track 5: Um, noodles and swirls around. A lot like Cass & Slide’s production.
Track 6: Beatless. Big chords wash and echo.
Track 7: Slow, quirky, with female vox.
Track 8: Breaks in 6/8 meter; more percussion and atmosphere than melody
Track 9: Opens with 5 minutes of ambient sound effects. Good for layering within a bigger mix.
Track 10: House alert! 4x4 beat here. Deep hook that toes the proggy line.
