Jansson's Temptation Part 2

British free improvisations recorded at the annual "Freedom of the City" festival. The CD is named after a Swedish egg-anchovy appetizer that sounds ... different. Recipe inside.|
1- Mostly quiet and mysterious. Opens with sine-wave-like electronics and gets a little busy in the middle. Last 7 minutes get louder, with some low-register piano pounding.
2- Acrid acoustic-guitar plucking and strumming, joined later by more lyrical piano for a quiet second half.
3- The veteran Parker/Guy/Lytton trio of sax, bass, drums is joined by the guitar and piano from tracks 1 and 2. Some nicely involved group passages emerge, punctuated by quiet zones. Seems like they could have been a little less cautious.
First few minutes are nice and start quietly.
For short excerpts, try -23:00 to -17:00 (busy pack that quietly winds down) or -7:00 to -3:00 (ominous hum and clatter, into a brief busy patch).
