Kill Your Idols - From Companionship To Competition (Sideonedummy) Alright! NYHC that sounds like REAL hardcore-not jock metal. Lots of charging, fast tunes & only one over 2 1/2 minutes. The cover of “We’re Still PIst” by The Pist is solid,too. Lyrically an attack on the phoniness of the hardcore “scene” & personal stuff, etc.. ((((1)))) Slow build up then bursts into, pissed off early 80’s h.c. sound. ((((2))))) Fast snarling with KILLER guitar wailing & breakdown. ((((3)))) Lo-fi version of Minor Threat or Faith? ((((4))))) Super short & to the point (FCC “fuck”) ((((5)))) DON’T PLAY-Too MANY FCCs (about 12 “fuck”s) Great title, great song though. (((((6))))) Kinda Poison Idea mixed with early Agonstic Front. Rippin’! (((7))) Like the old NYHC = early 80’s stuff, not thugcore. (((((8))))) Black Flag & Circle Jerks playing on 45. Hell yeah! ((((9)))) Sounds like The Pist but more nihilistic & venom spewin’. (FCCs “fuckin” 2 TIMES) (((10))) Melodic hardcore. Killer guitars but a little too “samey” (((11)))) Anti-Hot Topic tune. (FCCs “fuckin” 4 TIMES) ((12)) Confusing sound of melodic vs. hardcore both overkill the other. ((13)) Very So. Cal sounding but again sounding confused (((((14))))) Faster than the original but still really good. (FCCs “FUCK”, “FUCKING” 3 times) ((15)) Starts off hella metal then goes more h.c. Mid-paced, simple approach. Nothing too catchy though. | ||
