A strong album of contemporary folk from singer-songwriter Kate McDonnell. Has a voice like an early Joan Baez with perhaps the edge of Ani DiFranco. Expressive, thoughtful, enjoyable tunes.

1. Upbeat, breezy song about the open road. (4:10)
2. Chorus of “Hey Joe” gets tedious. But fun groove. (3:46)
3. More traditional-sounding mournful folk. (5:03)
4. Social/political commentary in the folk tradition. (4:15)
5. Quiet, heartfelt, emotional song. (5:11)
6. Uptempo, searching ballad. (4:23)
7. Cheerful acoustic blues rendition. (2:22)
8. Slow and overly drawn out. (5:55)
9. Emotional song about death. (3:05)
10. Plaintive love song. (4:43)
11. Folk rendition of Steve Earle’s song. (4:30)
12. Mournful ballad about love loss and hardship. (4:15)
