The doyenne of goth folk-rock lends her smoky voice to tunes for the most part penned by PJ Harvey or Nick Cave- the Cave tunes 3 & 7 have him playing piano (plus she says "loverman" in track 7, referencing Cave.)
Music for a lounge of decay. She’s like Annie Anxiety Bandez for the masses.

1. Starts w/singing & guitar, singer/songwriter style, then full band, (Not a cover, nothing like Julie Cruise's theme from "Blue Velvet")
+2.overdriven guitar, backing vocals, art-rock, a bit like John Cale.
+3.slow, pretty Cave piano, Faithful’s lyrics are Cave-like as well. Chorus lacks oomph that the verses have, unfortunately. Should be in a musical.
++4.Minor key, midtempo sadness. Singer/songwriter guitar/sing intro, strong verse and a chorus that sticks in my head. Anti-urban sprawl?
++5.spooky piano+guitar intro. Slow, 3/4 time. Psycho mom talks to child. Curiously makes me think of both Michael Gira (Swans/Angel of Light), and a middle-aged Joanna Newsom.
6.Mid tempo, midtempo and generally sparse, gets loud in chorus. Doesn’t do much for me. “woo woos” from the Stones “Sympathy for the Devil”?
+7.Ah that melodic Cave piano. Bartender, another drink.
8.Lyrics sound forced
+9.Rocker, different from the rest of the record, and the vocal delivery’s like Blondie’s “Rapture”! Major production.
+10.demented novelty music-box lullaby.
