Portuguese folk music from the town of Coimbra. Male & female voices backed by guitars, mandolins, and lutes. Typically festive music for dances and celebrations, mostly midtempo. At times reminiscent of both Italian and Spanish folk music. The music isn’t spectacular, but there’s a nice sense of “atmosphere,” kind of a “let’s all go to the plaza, drink wine and sing” feeling. Check out especially:

1. Warm & lively , a good introduction to the music.
4. Nice use of strings. Midtempo.
6. Female soloist, strings. A nice, swaying sound.
7. Almost a waltz. Good blend of voices/strings.
10. Sweet and bouncy.
14. Happy, midtempo & kinda catchy.
16. Bright w/a sweet melody.
20. A plinky-string “end of work day” kind of sound.
