Ragnar of Ravensfjord Reviewed 2005-06-07 | ||
This is pretty good techy, extreme metal (not purely death or grind). Somewhere around Soilent Green, Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, Candira. Lots of prog & jazzy laden breakdowns and bursts of heaviness. Sometimes a little TOO chaotic - like they use too many parts and not enough songs. (((1))) Short intro with slow chugging with proggy breakdowns. (((2))) Thudding with LOUD vocals, big riffs, some strange jazzy breakdowns. Confusing mix but it kinda works. (((3))) Slower in some parts like metalcore but mostly wacked out & schitzosphrenically structured. ((4)) Pretty generic tech-metalcore ((((5)))) Converege crossed with Cryptopsy? Big sound, a little more straight ahead riffs, et. al. ((6)) Picks up where the last one left off, mid-paced progy extreme metal. (((7))) Serious Dillinger/Crytopsy worship. Charging & riffy but not all that original. (((8))) Straight up death metal with a bunch of noodly parts throw in here & there. ((((9)))) Jazzy guitars, thudding, scattered stepping tempos. Very solid riffing. |
