AC/DC is just loud-ass rock n’ roll, so it makes sense for a rockabilly band to re-interpret their songs. They’re bringing something new, fresh & fun to a very well-worn & rather tired sound. A bit of Elvis, Stray Cats, Link Wray, Robert Gordon, Chuck Berry, et. al. Would make for some good party music. The sound is a little too ‘clean’ in some places though.
(((1))) Slowish, bassy, swaggerin’ early Elvis vibe that picks up speed.
(((2))) "Scootin’ along" beat/tempo,
((((3)))) Slow, classic early rock n’ roll feeling. Reeaallly early rock n’ roll feelin’ like 1957 styled. Nice.
((4)) Simple strumming, ok groove but nuthin’ special
((((5)))) The original is pure, 8-chord totally rudimentary r n’ r and this is even more so. Jeez, am I watching “American Graffitti?” Nice solo, to boot.
((((6)))) One of the worst AC/DC ever made soooo much better, total “truck drivin’-a-billy” vibe! Excellent!
(((7))) Fast, swingin’ tempo with trad. rock stops & starts.
((((8)))) The original is slow & bluesy and this is fast & country-ifed. Really fun & pretty original sounding.
((9)) Oy vey, AC/DC from 1986, not bad I guess but not too different than most of the previous tracks.
(((10))) Trippy guitar tone & more truckin’ shuffle patterns totally re-working the original like it’s a completely almost unrecognizeable version. Kinda weird but interesting.
