While artists like Negativland and People Like Us, Wobbly put the art in sample art, Wayne Butane simply lets the art of Sound Collage speak for itself. This is clearly without a doubt the pinnacle of sound collage. Unlike you or other yahoos with sound software, Butane clearly has the time and inspiration to sift and edit literally thousands of hours, spanning decades, of sound sources (at least it sure as hell sounds like it). And it comes out really good, mind blowing. So many obscure samples mixed in with popular stuff work themselves into a frenzy. In five years of reviewing cds, I can honestly say "pick any" because every track is equal in stature, the level of sound collage. And the best part is that I spent a cross country flight (and two battery recharges) editing out the FCC violations, so its ALL CLEAN, just waiting for airplay.
