Harmonic 33 is Dave Brinkworth and Mark Pritchard (of Global Communication). This album takes a markedly different direction from the duo’s last record.

As the title suggests, this record is "soundtrack-ish" in the fullest sense of the term. The tracks range from ambient organ to spacey electronic to downtempo jazz, but the whole album is reminiscent of music you’d imagine hearing in the back of some "futuristic" or Spaghetti Western 60’s/70’s film. Picture a slightly modernized Ennio Morricone. In short, Ghost is going to love this.

Fun stuff! This is definitely not the type of record you’d expect Warp Records to put out. Recommended for everyone!

(I should also mention: the last Harmonic 33 album, Extraordinary People, is some of the illest hip-hop dopeness out there. Go track it down!)

Note: Tracks 2, 11, 13 are super spacey, very short interludes.
Also: All the track titles are very apt.

**1. "Optigan" – catchy jazzy drums, low-fi melody and strings, nice bassline, retro vocal ambience. This just screams Spaghetti Western. Fucking awesome!! (3:46)
3. Short version of Track 8 (see below). (1:01)
*4. "Carousel" – trippy sounds and organ, waltzy circus melody, chimes, all with a nice downtempo feel. (2:06)
**5. "Bossa Nova Supernova" indeed! Dance-y bossa groove with super catchy harpsichord melody and ghostly ambience. Fun!! (3:18)
6. "The Shapeshifter" – blips, drops, digital arpeggios. (0:51)
7. "Funky Duck" – digital quacks(?), silly electronics, simple beat, funky space-age melodies and sound effects. (Reminds me of the Futurama theme?!) (4:20)
*8. "Marionette" makes a very apt title. Bells, strings, haunted house vibe. (2:50)
9. "Departure Lounge" – slow drums and bluesy twang, futuristic sounds. Extremely Spaghetti Western-ish (with a touch of James Bond?) (4:42)
*10. "The Dream Sequence" –heavy church-ish organ, ethereal vocal texture, cello(?) Cool! (1:53)
12. "Paranoia" – downtempo sultry spy-flick music, spirals off into discordant chords and sounds. (2:46)
14. "Long Shadow" – bass-heavy, chime-y, ominous downtempo jazz. (4:23)
15. Even shorter version of Track 8 (see above). (0:39)
*16. "Planet 54" – Mellow, chime-y, introspective melody over light spacey ambience. Last two minutes are completely silent. (6:11)
