Craig Matsumoto Reviewed 2007-01-09 | ||
Folk music, gentle and old-fashioned, with a earnest mid-range male vocal. Mellow songs, full of that sentimental yearning, and painted with fairly slick production (as opposed to a DIY singer/ songwriter sound). Clean harmonies and lots of acoustic steel strings. This is a collection of remasters spanning 1989 to 2005. FCC clean. 1- Pleasant, catchy. Upbeat tempo. 2- Mid/slow 3- Midtempo, sad but soaring, w/electric guitar and strings 4- Duet w/fem.vocal, soft and midtempo 5- Pleasant storybook song; innocent wonder 6- Instrumental, slowish sweet violin/piano 7- Sad country heartbreak, midtempo 8- Upbeat, strong beat. Louisiana flood lyrics written in 1989 9- Gently rocking, gets a bit overdone 10- Classical-ish piano in folky time, plus string quartet 11- Fast-patter Western feel. "How-de-dow-de-diddle-um-day" chorus 12- Lightly dancing piano piece. Title refers to an old seaplane, named for the Inuit word for "one who flies." 13- Irish sounding, upbeat mid/fast but gentle 14- Strong upbeat folky, a tribute to big rivers 15- Midtempo, mellow, sad 16- Soft, fairly fast. Low-key and whimsical. 17- Cheesy synth ugh, otherwise slow/simple song |
