Brutal, technical, death metal. Extremely heavy and fast, with guttural grunts for vocals. The band is from Malta and have been around since 1991 and this is their 3rd full length. Unlike many brutal death metal bands these days, these guys seem to try something different on almost every track, which is refreshing. The bad part of this record is the production. The drums sound, well, like a drum machine with a cheap sample. 1. Thunder? Very low bursts of growled vocals. They change speeds a few times including a slow part in the middle. The song does seem to go on a little long and then I noticed it was only 4:13. **2. Thrashier riffs, not unlike Carcass. Funny speed changes which I like. **3. Full on tech attack. The guitar is more complicated and there are more changes in the song. 4. Very fast right from the start. They do slow down a couple times but for the most part this track is very different from the last in that the guitar is much simpler but the track is much faster. 6. What a strange drum sound, so much life in the cymbals and so little life in anything else. All the pieces don’t seem to be pulled together on this track. 7. Odd combination of sounds between the drums and guitars. Guitars play the same medium paced riff over and over while the drums to very quick fills. This sounds raw, almost like a demo. 8. Speedy and has a multi-speed breakdown. First a slow breakdown and then a slightly slower one. **9. Brutal and heavy. Hmm -mph | ||
