Black metal, doom metal meet the avant-garde. Sunn’s base of Greg Anderson & Stephen O’ Malley are joined this time by Oren Ambarchi, Wrest (Leviathan), Malefic (Xasthur) & a few other friends whose identities are cloaked in mystery. Overall, solid, experimental heaviness & totally bleak & unforgiving. Nothing happy or hip here.
(((((1))))) Spacey, psychedelic percussion drone & effects.
(((((2)))) Repetitive, “black drone metal” with local fiend, Wrest on hellbeast voices.
((((((3)))))) Unholy shit! An bizarre Immortal cover, slowed waaaay down, forged with howling winds, Malefic’s tortured ghost vocals, bass drone & sheets of noise.
((((4)))) Typical Sunn/Earth “ambient Sabbath” doom-drone piece. Good but very standard.
(((((5)))) Bigger, more minimal sounding wall o’ drone & fucking evil vocals from MK Ultra Blizzard (aka: O’ Malley).
(((((6))))) Strange, electronic, creepy, horror ambient mixed with minimal maximum riffage.
((((7)))) Sparse sounds of bells for 7 min. then sustained feedback, Malefic’s wicked slo-mo howling, psychedelic music for the suicidal?
