Straight jazz with sax and piano leads. Mostly a mellow feel and very conventional, but Wheeler on sax and and Hobgood on piano are willing to dig in for some edgy “outside” playing, especially at the ends of solos. Guitar adds a non-sequitur “rocker” element on 3 and 9, but blends in nicely on other tracks like 7.
1- Mid/fast, strong soaring chords
2- Fireside mellowness. Fast tumbling solo even screechy @ end
3- Mid/fast, mellow. Screeching guitar solo
4- Slow and a bit exotic. Pulsing rhythm. Acoustic guitar.

9- Happy club jazz with twangy roadside-blues guitar.
