Psych-jazz jams. A heavy, heady brew with spacey organ and lots of burning, fuzzed-out guitar sounds from Nels Cline and G.E. Stinson. It's got tangible beats and even some funkiness on 1 and 3, but also some long abstract stretches. Nice mind-expanding stuff. Track 3 could fit a rock/surf mood, while Track 2 might play nicely on noise shows.
1- Fast swirly start with chops of guitar and some angry peaks on drums. First 5 minutes make a nice excerpt. Then it abruptly veers into slower, more sparse territory -- spacey stuff -- for most of the track. Some fast snappy organ for the last two minutes.
2- Eerie start into a slowly swaying, gentle segment. Around -7:30, gets loud, with groaning, unsettling guitar screeches, then plunges into a fast groove around -5:30 for an exciting few minutes.
3- Bluesy riffs, loud midtempo rockin'. Great big guitar sounds and some cool fast soloing.
