Jumbly out-jazz derived from Ornette Coleman, with Tim Berne's signature long/twisty themes and almost funky, herky-jerky rhythm. Compositions often have sax and piano playing in counterpoint, for a continual falling-motion kind of feel (4,5). Complex and energetic, a great continuation of Berne's "Science Friction" band.

One difference from that band: It's all acoustic this time. Tim Berne (sax), with Craig Taborn (piano) and Tom Rainey (drums).

- Immediate start. Mid/fast, slightly dark. Eases up later.
- Soft/fast patter, then slow and dark. Gets faster, thoughtful.
- A dark stormy brew, starts slow and builds
- Gets into tumbling, crazy spaces. Nice mid/fast start; bouncy theme near the end.
- Mostly slower, with gentle start and patient piano solo. Aggressive and dark near the end.
- Almost funky, a snappy mid/fast feel. Gets fierce.
- Fast urgent tumbling. Slow, exploratory middle, then rebuilds into tense, fast riffs
- Solo piano, calm. (See Taborn's "Light Made Lighter" CD for more like this)
