Great live (duh!) run through the Brazilian thrash/death metal band’s career. Yours truly hasn’t been too up on their recent efforts but I can tell you that the bulk of this is pretty fuckin’ heavy & intense. Regardless of it’s ‘enhanced’ or not it’ s pretty amazing to hear how often the crowd knows the lyrics to every song. Mixed raw but loud & resonating and mostly enjoyable. DISC I (((1))) Crazy, long intro by Emcee & horror movie legend, Coffin Joe. ((((2)))) Hard & heart punching riffs & pissed vox. Almost getting to greatness. ((((3)))) Thrashy & rhythmic, nice soloing. ((((4))))Chunky riffing (FCC “fuckin’ hands”) ((((5))) Tribal, thudding bassy kinda like slow metalcore? (((((6)))) Awesome riff & groove, some cool & varied drum sounds. ((((((7)))))) Big, pure mid-paced metal to totally apeshit FAST speed/death metal. (((((8))))) Slammin’, riffing, killer & O.T.T. 80’s speedsanity! (((9))) Off-kilter, riff with some OK breakdowns (((((10))))) Totally headbangin’ intensity. ((((((11)))))) Whoa! Rippin’ & unexpected take on this awesome track from their first EP(!) DISC II (((1))) Straight-ahead, steady, so-so. “Tribal metal”. (((2))) Lots of stop/starts & pounding but kinda weak vocals. (FCC “shit” at end) ((((3))))) GREAT riff & vocal attack. Really big sound, too. (FCCS “fucking”, “fucking”, “motherfuckers”) ((4)) Pretty decent cover of the Public Enemy classic in English & Portuges just runs on too long. (5) Highly unnecessary cover of an already crappy song which they’ve already done. ((((6)))) Insane hardcore sounding thrash. (((((7))))) Totally raging riffs & snarling vocals, hard as hell breakdowns and a nod to Led Zep. (FCC “fucking”) (((((((8)))))) One of the best speed/death metal songs EVER made & another crusher from the same ’91 album. (((((9))))) Bassy, rapid-fire beats, hella heavy, great solos. ((((10)))) Bombastic, screamy vox. |
