| Howe Gelb has been churnnin’ up his blend of desert rock, country twang, old time blues and weirdness since the 80’s under the name Giant Sand. His music is always bend way left of center with his raspy off kilter voice and loose guitar and piano playing. Throw all this into the pot and add a shitload of southern soul and you have a recipe for good listen’ This record finds Howe joining forces with the Voices of Praise Canadian gospel choir. He plays new songs and some Gelbian classics all backed by some heavenly voices. This record is a little more straight ahead than other Gelb releases but he still shines.
