Stoner rock/70’s inspired doom metal and a small slice of 60’s psych-folk severed with some killer guitar sounds from J. Masics. Overall nothing earthshatteringly awesome but Mascis proves (as he often did in Dino Jr.) that he’s a monster on the 6-string. Vocals range from pretty good to “sleepy elf wizard”. File near St. Vitus, The Obsessed and Witchcraft. Interesting and layered enough to keep it playing. Go with #2, #3, #4.

(((1))) Good riff that strangely recalls “The Zoo” by The Scorpions by way of sludgey doom & mass dosing of wah-pedal.
((((2)))) Uppity, simple, direct and super-riffy.
((((3)))) Classic doom ‘ala St. Vitus, Pentagram & Sabbath. Even nicks a drum break from the Sabs “Wicked World”.
((((((4)))))) Doom Metal 101: Big ass riffs, loud beats, wailing solos and “appropo” occult lyrics.
(((5))) Hazy, semi-bombastic, good guitar wailing. A loud, more rockin’ version of the song from the “Invaders” comp.
((6)) Slow, stiff, stoned & lazy.
(((7))) Slow mellow medieval psych-folk later slow, sludgey doom.
