Perky free-jazz session with two saxophones, cello(!), bass, drums. Burbling with energy packed into some nice jamming pieces. A nice peek at Steve Lacy's working band during his years in Paris, and a glimpse at some of his compositions in raw, early form. This was taken from a live casette recording of a 1975 concert, with middling fidelity. FCC clean.
- Brash intro, then TEARS into a long, fast sax solo by Steve Potts. 20 minutes long, but that sax solo (comprising the first half) is pretty cool
- Midtempo rock pulsing, a Hendrix tribute. Chugging, almost blues-rock feel.
- Fast; *feels* like a rush. Compact 4-minute bit.
- "World"-feeling groove, lumbering. A busy rustle/drone, almost hypnotic. Intro is a long, high alarm blare.
- Whimsical mid/fast riff. Calm backing for a heated cello solo
- Fast jam after stabbing intro. Second half includes a squeaky avant-garde kind of solo from Lacy. 19 minutes.
