Mike Patton reinterprets/craps out a strange mixture of the past 12 years of pop music. He has a knack for parroting. The results are highly produced and tinted by his very busy, spy, industrial style. The songs will be amusing to music geeks. I'm not so sure they stand up outside of the music they parody though. FCCs! Picks 1,2,5,3,4,11.
**1-(4:20) World beat intro. Quickly turns to slinky, polished, sinister mystery beat. Cartoony rock-rap hook. Ends with world beat.
**2-(3:40) If Britney Spears did a dark, shiny, male rock rap industrial reinterpretation of Gin n' Juice.
*3-(5:46) Synth pops, slow funky. Beat is a bit Timbalandish. FCC "shit", "assholes","fuck" (quiet).
*4-(3:22) Starts with heartbeat. Slow, dark, funky spy beat ft. Kool Keith!
**5-(5:45) Softer rhodes, weird take old early 70's r&b sounds. Trippy. Hints of Sly & the Family Stone.
6-(4:09) Echoy harmonies. 80s robots.
7-(2:46) Tongue in cheek soft Bossa Nova. -1:50 gets fuzzy and loud briefly for the hook. Fades out.
8-(3:42) Whispered freaky lyrics begin. Dark Deltron 3030 style beat. Kid Koala scratching. Funny lyrics.
9-(2:44)
10-(2:33) hip hop beat with some incongruous samples. scratching. Norah Jones?! joining Patton on a whispered FCC hook (motherfucker).
11-(5:10) Starts bare bass, drum beat, and Patton channeling Cee-lo. Interlaced with angry, heavily produced alt. rock anthem. Last 32 sec. quiet sounds.
