GIANT HAYSTACKS – “Blunt Instrument” CD (Mistake)
Great local minimal punk/post-punk. Prominent bass, clearly sung vocals and angular almost no wave guitar in the background. Catchy tracks you can sing along with, the bass often playing along with the singer instead of the guitar. Somewhere between THE JAM, GANG OF FOUR, and THE MINUTEMEN.
1. Very catchy with odd lyrics.
2. The bass is up front while the guitar plays around vocals are just holding on.
**3. Nice guitar and bass interaction.
4. More melodic, poppy and tight.
**5. Faster, noisier, and like THE MINUTEMEN. Great.
**6. Short, jutting, fast, and multiple arty vocalists.
**7. Lost of bass
**8. Choppy jutting quick track again not that far from THE MINUTEMENN
**9. Love the busy guitar. Almost spoken vocals.
10. Slower and more spoken vocals. Vocals later fall a little flat.
11. Fast but with funny low vocals…sound like a guy singing for the first time.
12. All over the place guitar.
Great stuff. -mph
