Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend

Noise, bordering on avante jazz, unique in that it features saxaphone played in a drony element and often harsh manner. Sax, feedback, rumbles, effects. Definitely qualifies as experimental noise though in that sometimes its ear splitting and difficult, torturous. Like John Coltrane in a particle accelorator, John Zorn in a possessed cassette player. I’m partial to the dronier aspects. Fine stuff. For fans of Japanoise, Merzbow, John Zorn, Kaspar Brotzman, Coltrane

1) builds in a layered drony fashion until after ~4 minutes it drops down and everything gets very very quiet, minimal for the remaining 5 minutes or so
2) lots of feedback and echo to start, desperate sax, builds but falls into minimalism spiced with bursts, ear splitting high feedback, ouch!
3) starts minimal but turns into a noise torture fest, some minimal scronking sax, sick, nice layered noise toward end
4) Zorn’ish sax, ebbing and flowing disjunct noise, evolves into a saxaphone cacophony
5) high pitched painful stuff in first part of this long track, some cool low end noise and rumbles midway,
nice drones toward end and symphonic noise, this one pushes the limits of tolerance and belief
6) title says it all: damaged symphony for karl Heinz Stockhausen
