LOCAL! SF-based, female fronted indie pop rock. This is their debut EP. I love! Dancey w/retro bass and guitar hooks, casiotone cute melodies, some electropunk elements. SF Guardian says “the quartet knows how to rock a dance floor by playfully weaving a nostalgic arcade hook between flushed bursts of guitar and disco drums” (2007). I think of a mix between Erase Errata and Au Revoir Simone. Play them!
No FCCs Favs: 1- 3, 5, 6
– dancey w/cute videogame keyboards and bouncy drums and bass; faster sections w/angular guitar
– midtempo, spy/mystery guitar sound with organ; dreamy fem vocals – campfire storytelling
– retro midtempo pop w/spy guitar & chimey keyboards and bouncy bass hooks, fun and playful vocals, lyrics about seducing women and being a player
– sweet song, simple and cute – just banjo and male/fem vocals
– darker sound w/heavy electro bass hooks, wailing guitar parts, and prominent organ; becomes heavier w/guitar and people shouting “one”
– indie pop! sweet and poppy fem vocals, fast beat and organ; fun lyrics about diff historical figures
– another poppy song with dancey bass and jangly guitar; afternoon midtempo song; sound changes mid-song into a lighter and happier pop sound
– experimental vocal song – mixture of repetitive altered vocals w/different layers of pretty and airy vocal sounds; ends suddenly
