Impressive indie pop with a Americana/Western/roots touch. Pretty stuff with airy, on-target female vocals. Like a straight man for the Ditty Bops, but more earnest and touching. Doesn't rock out madly, but there are plenty of toe-tappers here. Lyrics are creative and thematic, often richly rewarding. Moments of straight indie pop, too: 1,3,4. Skip straight to track 5 for some gorgeous heart-string-strumming singing. This is great stuff. Don't miss it. 1- Minor key midtempo, catchy chorus 2- Catchy, mid/fast-stepping. Town-hall singalong hoot 'n' holler. 3- Upbeat, breezy indie pop 4- Nostalgic pop, soft, mid/fast 5- Swaying. Sad but not overdone. Some beautiful high vocals. 6- Loping country feel, rather mellow 7- Twangy upbeat country 8- Old banjo waltz. Upbeat w/sad lyrics. 9- Midtempo country heartbreak 10- Catchy country twang, reasonably rocking 11- Moping instrumental 12- Minor key, catchy. "God damn" is technically an FCC. 13- Wistful, a bit sad, mid/fast. 14- A happy, dreamy swing |
