Political spoof, mostly with folk music, but also with some really safe/cheesy sounding “rock” and lifts/interpretations of other genres deemed appropriate to the subject (e.g. Orleans ragtime for a song about New Orleans flooding, Ranchera about English only). Bashes all the usual suspects: Bush and conservative issues. No viewpoints you haven’t heard before, some cute combinations of words and rhymes. Sounds very “studio” throughout and the inclusion of audience laughter almost feels like a laugh track. Cheesy stuff, no “edge” whatsoever anywhere. Fun for the whole family (those wacky liberals!).
1) Elvis “I just called to say I love you” spoof on wiretapping
2) Tongue in cheek country about draft dodging
3) classic folk feel, spoof of a politico press conference
4) war on terror, simplistic, with gross pop-rock
5) silly 50’s rock feel, spoof on creating the earth in 7 days
6) cheesy romantic music, lyrics about abstinence
7) double standard of gay marriage bashers
8) redux of #3
9) slam on Bush education policy, folk music
10) Mancini spy music feel, poke at the CIA, FBI, ATF blah blah
11) cheesy romantic music, “audience” laughter sounds more like a laugh track
12) this is supposed to spoof a Mexican ranchera but it comes across more like Wisconsin
13) heres one about New Orleans, delta ragtime
14) redux of track #3
15) 70’s music feel, metaphors about “America”
16) acoustic folksy, about Saddam
17) acoustic about the Hubble and technology stuff
18) full version of track #3
