Death Metal pure and simple. Anti-Christian and nihilistic and filled with blast beats. Typical as that sounds it kinda works. Only real problem is – ever since Deicide’s Glen Benton has done vocals & bass for V.R. there’s not much difference between the two bands.
(1) Sample of “Passion of the Christ” - Jesus is whipped to ribbons. Vaguely amusing but you already have Jesus being nailed down on the album cover so no real point to this.
(((2))) Some blasting death metal moving towards some more melodic guitar harmonies.
(((3))) Sounds like Deicide crossed with Nile. Assloads of melodic guitar harmonies and a mid-paced tempo with a later death/thrashing all with Benton’s amelodic guttural vocals.
(((4))) Early 90’s U.S.D.M. sound with yet more squirrelly guitars. The riffs get more interesting as time goes on.
(((5))) Battering riff and indecipherable vocals. Consistently fast and hammering but not always “on”.
((((6)))) Riffy, pummeling and fast. No brainer death metal.
(((7))) So-so fast death metal with a bit of ‘groove’ to it.
(((8))) Speedy and thrashin’ DM with more of an epic feel.
((9)) More of the same guttural death metal pretty samey.
((10)) Pretty nice riff but…wait a minute this is a fucking YNGWIE cover song! Ugh. The original was ridiculous now you added death metal vox on top? Ugh.
