LOCAL. Second EP from these Oakland/ Berkeley eclectic indie popsters. Basic rock instrumentation (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards). The recording style on this loses some of the Strokes-vibe that was more apparent in their first EP. Play with other eclectic indie popsters like Bishop Allen and the Long Winters. This EP shows growth from this young East Bay group. These guys are only going to get bigger.

my picks: 1, 4

1. med-fast, uptempo. acoustic guitar, tambourine, drums. classic sound, good song.
2. Rhodes-based with slightly echoey vocals, strong bass. slow breakdown section
3. slow, distorted rocker
4. walking tempo/ beat song (or perhaps "strutting" would be more appropriate). lead, spare guitar, strong bass. nice instrumental section with lead guitar near the end.
5. med-slow. starts soft, growing with arpeggiated guitar and drums leading the way. soft breakdown section before coming back for one last hurrah.
