Amazing high energy punkish/metal-ish Dance from Curitiba, Brazil (you can call it party funk Carioca; we had something of this genre in the A-file about a year ago – Rio Baile funk). A debut album for a three-member band formed in a snack bar called Role, hence the name “the Role Crew”. Girl/boy singing. Sort of infantile singing and song topics (see James Bond), but infectious beats. I understand that the lyrics may be filthy, but who cares, it’s in Portuguese. Several sure hits, see asteriskss for my picks. 1. Doom metal opening. Girl vox later and a grunge-y bailefunk. **2. A fun dancing song with touches of hip-hop hooray. *3. Punkish baile funk. **4. Tropical/Caribbean baile funk. *5. Punkish (like Oh Mickey you’re so fine). *6. Rockish. *7. Congos and basic electronics. Sexy. 8. Cold, with tuba and congos. 9. Cold and repetitive. *10. Like a commercial for chiclets, with parade samba beat. 11. 90’s-electropop-style, voice modulations. 12. Metal-ish | ||
