CALIFORNIA LOVE - "Can't Waste Death" CD (625 Thrash)
Local blistering fast, noisy, hardcore. Some influences from power-violence and others from fastcore. It's fast enough in some places to border on grindcore. Songs are short, heavy, and noisy and you can't understand anything the singer is singing. Contains members of LOOK BACK AND LAUGH and TALK IS POISON. During it's chaotic moments it reminds me of GRAF ORLOCK. Only two songs are over a minute long and the whole thing is 12 tracks in 8:20.
1. Fast, simple guitars and great drumming.
**2. Guitars are more melodic.
3. Short and fast and they fit a slow pummeling section in the middle.
4. More straightforward and nice pick slide.
5. Short.
**6. Start fast then slows way down to EYEHATEGOD speed and sound then a noisy burst of speed at the end.
**7. One of the longer tracks. Relentless but again they squeeze in a slow part.
**8. Chaotic, some stop-n-go pummeling, feedback and a chugging riff. They even break out the guitar octaves at the end.
9. Slower with a more obvious riff. Straight forward hardcore. Speeds up during the 2nd half of the track.
10. Stays midpaced the whole track.
11. Odd short beginning then changes sounds completely. Like two tracks mashed together.
**12. Reminds me of GRAF ORLOCK or WATCHMAKER a bit. Chaotic with the drums and guitar playing off each other.
Great stuff! -mph
