Wonderfully versatile vocals from a Cameroon-born jazz singer. African rhythms pervade with touches of everything from bop to straight-up Afro-jazz. Fabulous musicians include bassist Ron Carter and drummer Jeff “Tain” Watts. Vocal gymnastics reminiscent of Bobby McFerrin but with a stronger African flavor. The tracks that are just layers of his voice(s) are gorgeous. Play it all!

1. A capella intro. Warm & lazy w/a light joyous quality.
2. Bright & trilling w/piano & perc. Great solos. Delicious!
3. Downtempo, quietly moving jazz ballad. Picks up later.
4. Playful sing-songy a capella layers in a great showcase.
5. Gently upbeat w/great work from all, esp. vox/piano.
6. Relaxed w/some piercing high vocals. A lazy jam.
7. Upbeat w/fun layers of vocal hijinks. A sweet blend.
8. Sweet bop sway, upbeat. Tight arrangement & playing.
9. Midtempo blend of vocal layers & bass. Sweet & bright.
10. Warm vox leads an upbeat Afro-jazz statement. Tight!
11. Percussion/piano/vocals. Down/mid and lyrically moving.
12. Upbeat vocal layers blend intricately. So good!
