Totally out of left field band doing a modern take on classic rock. These Swedes combine parts of Black Sabbath (think “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” era), some Merseybeat vocals and Pink Floyd-ish psych. Unlike some bands that have attempted these blend of styles – these elves really succeed by sounding bold and yes, big.
((((((1))))) Severe Sabbath worship like ’75 in ’07. Crackin’ good & heavy as fuck!
(((((2)))) WTF? Are you SURE this isn’t an unreleased tune from “The Wall”? Trippy synths and dead on Gilmour impression (with a ‘lil Ozzy & E.L.O. in the mix).
((((3)))) Bombastic 70’s hard rawk with er…Billy Squier-ish vocals? Tony Iommi’s dobbleganger’s playing lead.
(((4))) Early 70’s balladry with a bit of psych.
((5)) Piano based, Queen-like, sarcastic pop number about the music industry. Amusing but too sugary.
(((6))) Weird, off-kilter histronic boogiee with a ton of vocal harmonies.
(((7))) Distant vocals – spacey then total power pop (!). Plus a few heavy riffs and a nod to prog. Cool for what it is.
(((8))) Slooww quiet then loud, “doomy pop” Nice in places but too schizo.
(((((9))))) Burly metal riff, over the top organs, poppy & rockin’ all the way. Killer!
((((10)))) Very 70’s organ-laden hard rock like Sounds like Journey’s “Make Up Your Mind.” That’s the Pre-Steve Perry Journey, emphasis on pre.
((12)) Angry, drunken piano ballad that’s dangerously close to Supertramp.
