Chica was developed in Peru in the late 60s/early 70s. A sort of “Amazonian funk.” This NY-based band delivers covers from the style’s heyday and some originals, allwith a 21st century sound. Wickedly cool retro hip funk that’s sexily playful and all worth a play. Very retro lounge w/a touch of surf guitar. Yow!

1. Relaxed funk wiggle w/a hint of a snake charmer.
2. Midtempo cowboy-surf-spy theme w/hip vocals.
3. Upbeat electric oddness w/a happy folk dance kind of sound.
4. Midtempo lounge groove w/a slinky cocktail hour bellydance feel.
5. Mid/uptempo electronica snaking through a space-age jam.
6. Midtempo head nodder w/sexy male vocals.
7. Midtempo lounge sway w/a yummy electric bits.
8. Sci-fi bellydance w/a playful midtempo sound.
9. Bright & bouncy w/ some cool guitar work.
10. Sleepy cha-cha esque w/lush vocal duet & keyboards.
11. Quirky cumbia w/surf accents & cool accordion.
12. Upbeat, spacey cover of “Popcorn.” Totally silly fun.
13. A playful midtempo bounce. Sounds like a children’s song.
14. Cool midtempo dance w/hipno-sci-fi sound.
