Wild, amazing mix of pop, ballads, sludge rock, metal. Done by just a drum & guitar duo. Amber Valentine’s vocal range is really impressive. Lots of unpredictable turns and twists and tons of catchy tunes. This is actually a concept record about the French revolution. Overall, works really well musically AND conceptually.
(((((1)))) Big, sunny rockin’ pop with Southern twang.
(((((2))))) Fast, pissed off metal/hardcore mix with pure rage in a scant 32 seconds.
((((3)))) Strummy, breathy vocal ballad. Really nice.
((((4)))) Doomy pop? Soaring vocals and awesome guitar tone.
((((5)))) Slow strumming and focused on every word vocals ‘ala PJ Harvey then bursts into a much louder, heavier sound and back again.
((((6))) Buzzing, knock-down hardcore fury. Screamed out vocals.
(((((7))))) Laid back feeling with pretty French vocals, nice strummy guitars.
((((((8)))))) Spacey, slow , doomy with amazing vocals.
(((9))) Straight up ballad that pretty much works aside from the excruciatingly repetitious word “tonight”.
((((10)))) Heavy psych/metal with distant vocals. Incredible guitar and steady drumming.
((((11)))) Slow, jazzy French & English vocals then bursts of super-fuzz & rumbling guitar heaviness.
((((((12))))) Majorly heavy riffs and French vocals then gets into really rockin’ yet melodic vibe.
(((13))) Quiet to loud formula that full of whispering to screamed out vocals. Too much repeated screaming to work, though.
(((((14))))) Fuzzy, thudding, heavy rawk instrumental.
Killer drum sound & guitar tone.
(((((15))))) Mellow, airy vocals, slowly strummed chords. First part in English, second en Françias.
Great stuff.
(((((16))))) Big ‘ol sludge rocker not far from the Melvins or Thrones.
((((17)))) Uppity loud poppy rocker. Totally catchy & bright sound.
((((18)))) Acoustic guitar & banjo, ballady. Really nice chords and playing overall.
(((((19))))) Killer instrumental with massive riffs and slow drum pound. Gets lots of milage out of a few notes.
(((((20))))) Strummy, guitars and fantastic vocals.
(((((21))))) Dark warbling sound, whispered voice in French. Would make for a great, short video.
