Foot Village Friendship Nation tomerecords.com
A trio of LA art-punkers who all simultaneously play the drums and scream anthems. The drumming is super high energy, lots of low toms, almost like a drum circle, goes from tribal feel, to rock patterns, to fast grind rhythms. The fem vox. sounds like the singer from "Katastrophe Wife". There are some great otherworldly moments on this CD. Give it a try; it is a unique listen. PS - the last four tracks are liberal remixes by BIG A little a, Silver Daggers, Tussle, and Robedoor respectively. FCCS (of varying levels of intelligiblity...judgment call) Picks - 1,3,4,5,8,11,12,13 but try them all.
***1-2:51) Wow, grindcore fast drumming on tribal/trashcan drums. M/F screetching, gets silly towards end (FCCs "fuck").
*2-2:29) Mid. fast, develops steady beat.
***3-5:30) Starts quiet, organically builds. Sudden end. Trippy
***4-2:14) FCCS! Chanted intro. Then drums and vox only grind/thrash sound. Awesome! later weird Sun City Girls vibe. Ends on very slow tempo.
***5-3:24) Muffled FCCs ("fuck") Trippy barbershop quartet intro that goes awry! "You want your god, to breath in your pain, remove the stain inside you". Repeated over with slow pounding builds to fast rock beat.
6-5:55) Starts obnoxiously, steady military pounding. Then echo effects, sounds of water, trippy Greek chorus lyrics. Builds nicely, swirling, hysteric feel.
7-2:00) Sudden beginning. Aggressive rock feeling. Great grindy burst at the end.
*8-5:38) FCC "motherfucker". Nice instrumental build. Halfway through, breakdown to recorded laughter and drunk tomfoolery.
=======================================
9-1:00) SILENCE. DEAD AIR. DO NOT PLAY
=======================================
10-1:38) Remix. Tempered with heavy echo and stuttery effects. Softer amorphous electronics come in.
*11-3:49) Remix of 4. Warbly intro, swarm of drums. Looped vocals (FCC "fuck") and drums create wall of sound, akin to Jon Muellers "Metals". Ends on quieter spacey loop fading out.
**12-4:39) Remix. Slow, druggy with effects. Start stop. Midway breaks into IDMy beat like "Tomo". Sudden end.
**13-7:16) Remix by Robedoor. Crunchy low drone tone. Spacey, trippy, really gone. KFJC would give their false teeth for this track.
