Sojourners, The/Hold On/Black Hen Music/2007
Soul wrenching gospel vocal trio accompanied by an instrumental trio. Songs that hit the charts hard during the civil rights era sung by the Staples Singers and Curtis Mayfield. They are all worth a listen, they’ll make your toes shuffle and soul sing.
1) 3:45 Great cover of this civil rights era tune.
2) 3:13 Mid great cover of a song that has been covered by many including Moby.
3) 4:30 Mid sweet song with a children’s bent.
4) 3:44 slow/mid great cover of this classic from the mid-20th century. Love the bass.
5) 6:24 Slow starts off dreamy with some steel slide accompaniment. Picks up midway.
