Sax and drums, no piano! Psych! Duets that lean toward the avant-garde but are presented in an accessible package. Some seem to have composed elements played by multiple saxophones, for a neat effect. Others are improvised in an outside-jazz vein. There's some fast, loud playing (1,6,10), but a lot of the album's best moments come on quieter tracks (3,4,5,7), where the acoustics of softly played sax and drums create a lush environment.

Now, "piano" in music lingo literally means "quiet," so "Piano Music" might be a meaningful name for this project, indeed. Then again, if you look at those song titles ("Moose Clock"?? "Which Way to Domino's"?!?!), maybe they really are just screwing with us.

- Quick-swerving and sometimes crazy, with an overdubbed "band" of saxes in the background.
- Mid/fast patter; medium sax line followed by sputters
- Slow, warmly lonely. Includes an interesting quiet interlude with manipulated sax played back at high speed & low volume, like a mosquito buzzing from ear to ear. Maybe it won't knock your socks off, but I love the space they create.
- Placid, with some burred edges. Builds into a calm little groove.
- Serious, deep: soft tympani and bells, breathy sax. Ends rather abruptly.
- Mid/fast: jazzy snare-filled drums, three saxes in harmony. Opens up for a brisk one-sax duet w/drums.
- Fast but restrained fluttering, into a nicely slow, drawn-out segment with slow brushes on drums. Warms up at the midpoint, then quiets again for airy fingers-on-keys sax sounds, a nice lush patter.
- *FCC* "shit" around -0:30. Weird double-dubbed monologue over bell tones. Cool and strange. Words describe some weird-ass meal.
- Gets into intense screeches, high drama. Second half quiet.
- Silly little march.
