OOH LIVE! (Operative Oracles for Humanity) featuring Pharoah Sanders on bright moments records 2008
Chicago based group, modern post bop, Kahil on drums, Malachi Favors acoustic bass, Ari Brown piano, tenor sax and Phaoah Sanders tenor sax.
1: 19:40 applause & introducing the group, slow piano + bass intro then mid tempo, applause & announcing Pharoah Sanders on next track.
****2: 25:34 Pharoah Sanders mellow squawking sax, ramps up a bit then by 12 minutes honking, piano pounding frenzy then a bit mellow by 14 min. At 16 min piano bass groove that ramps up, GREAT bass work, piano chaos. 1 min percussion??? noodling fade then applause.
***3: 14:15 plinking piano keys, bowed bass intro then build up to mid tempo bass & piano groove, drum kit towards end. nice transition right into track #4
***4: 17:12 mid fast modern post bop bluesy number, Ari Brown on tenor sax. Wailing honking sax, locked drums & bass, plinking piano keys. male vocal, blues vocal "I got the blues" applause D Farrell 10/2008
