Indie rock, 90's style, bitter and thick with distortion and dirt. Refreshing and visceral. Most songs are mid-fast tempo, minor key, electric guitar based. Some futzing with the production, gives it a haphazard feel when listening all at once. And it wasn't recorded all at once, some of the recordings really are from the 90's- their last release was in '93 and this CD covers '95-'07. A pleasure to listen to, a blast from the past. (If you need more Karl Hendricks, this can stand in until his next album is out)

+1.Quiet start, guitar and organ, bluesy song. End has 60's style tape splicling/segments of other songs, so the flow stumbles then for the last minute picks up again
+2. Pissed off breakup song, mid-fast, great overdriven guitar sound
+3. Starts with a hilarious answering machine msg and continues with an excellent grumpy-old-punker rant, mid-fast punky music. 1 FCC? "selling records to assholes, huffing boo and screwing you" at 1:05 in, T-2:13 from end- play at safe harbor or mute it out.
4.Psychedelic opening & ending, mid-tempo rock love song in the middle.
5. Straight-up rock, love despite lacking confidence. 70's style guitars at end?
6.one minute demo, singing w piano like at a bar late at night "Bring your sad friend"
7.shortish song about a messed up friend
+8.Multi part song, storylike
9.Good buildup, enigmatic lyrics, end turns into 3/4
10.laid back and slightly bluesy. Warbly guitar sound. Short, blends w/next
+11.emo, slow. Good fem vocals
12. punk noise rock. FCC?:"kiss my ass"
13.mid-slow dark rock, good playing, quiet-loud-quiet
14.good very short instrumental, ends w/tape dying

Disc 2.
1.Quiet piano kicks into a sweet guitar jam halfway through. Instrumental, fun
+2.3-min instrumental opening, epic length, a bit of swagger, lots of changes
+3.slow fade-in, warm and unhappy, rocks out
4.faster, shorter
+5.quiet 20-sec fade-in. Steady mid-tempo rhythm, overdriven vocals
+6. FCC:"fuck"s but a good angry punk song nonetheless
+7.Quiet like Sebadoh, more acoustic & close-mic'd, some Hammond(?) organ & piano, builds to epic ending
+8.Off kilter intro of outtakes, equipment getting smashed to laughter- then song begins at about :50 fast rock with dirty guitar, spot-on drumming and intense vox
