Quiet Earth

Stoner metal/heavy rawk with a huge dose of High On Fire, Mastadon on a few Thin Lizzy-ish moves. On closer listen it’s a strong and fairly fierce hunk of metal were dealing with here, even if it isn’t the most original thing out there. Plenty of big riffs and snarling vocals throughout. Also, this band contains ex-members of the Vancouver, B.C. skate-punk group S.T.R.E.E.T.S (Skating Totally Rules Everything Else Totally Sucks).

((((1)))) Big riffage bursts out rawkin’ like nobody’s business, very HoF with ‘Maiden/Lizzy-ish harmonies.
(((((2)))) (FCC “fuckers” sung once). Fast & pummeling, shouted vocals, rather heavy riffage. Would sound killer live.
(((3)))) Total High On Fire riff-like it was scraped right off of Mike Pike’s resin soaked fingers and hell, they do a good impression of his vocals, too.
(((4))) Cello & violin intro, epic build up, gets fast & steady by 2:45. Sounds a lot like HoF’s “Devilution” mixed with “Blessed Black Wings”.
((((5)))) Shouted out distorted, rather heavy & solid a bit closer to bands like 16, EyehatedGod than HoF.
((((6)))) Fast & rather rippin’, file under “if it ain’t broke…”
((((7)))) Slow to mid-paced, lots of vibrato & lunging chords, pretty righteous instrumental jam,
(((((8))))) Big opening chords, another big ‘un filled with plenty of bold & brawny riffin’.
