Album Review
Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2008-12-21
Dreamy female fronted simple indie rock/pop. EP from Alhambra band that channels all things Low, Yo La Tengo, Sparklehorse, slowcore and dream pop. Male/female vocals, mostly chill delivery of the music. But intricate and simple and low fi at the same time. Great stuff.

1) quiet yet melodic, jangle strumming joins in with the slow/mid beat
2) acoustic guitar with near-whispered vocals, more instruments follow and just layer on the prettiness, then upbeat happy drums kick in and you got yourself a pop song
3) a cross between Low and Yo La Tengo somehow, chill yet there, upbeat
4) yo la tengo comes to mind, the chill factor goes up then the temperature rises into a complex amalgam of all things pop and dream rock
