Your Imaginary Friend
Reviewed 2009-01-04
Very pleasant, somewhat chill, pop that leans heavy on eastern, Indian music, sampling with simple melodic female vocals delivered in a straight forward simplicity to bring Young Marble Giants to mind. Like and electro eastern Liliput. Just simple and very lovely stuff that will not ever make your head hurt. Pretty melodies throughout, chill downtempo and upbeat, complex beats. Check it out.

1) twisted upbeat tabla, with pop female delivered female vocals
2) quiet fade-in to upbeat eastern rhythm with subtle electonics, unfortunately brief, no vocs
3) downtempo, pleasing vocals
4) a bit more upbeat and very melodic in the vocals
5) upbeat, less eastern
6) brief instrumental interlude, looping then environmental sounds
7) subdued, upbeat, swallowed kalima’ish music melodic
8) kinda simple childlike almost, very soaring vocal melodies
9) electro disjunct beat, with simple melodies
10) a halting feel, breakbeatish sorta, complex, pretty
