Swan song for Carlin. Pulling no punches. For years his comedy was considered “edgy” and he was a draw in Vegas despite growing his hair long in the early 70’s. Carlin did some tame stuff, did some terrible movies (“Car Wash” not included). He always seemed to keep his subversiveness “accessible”. But listening to this, one gets the feeling that he realized that was going to die soon and he best leave a good mark on this world, call out the phonies, call out the trivial, call out the ridiculous double standards that plague us all. Theres even moments where I swear he is ripping off the kings of irreverence, Bill Hicks namely. So if you ever considered Carlin as late night t.v. comedy fare, think again. I spent a almost as much time cleaing up this cd as I did Richard Pryor.
