Album Review

Pop, hints of goth, with well-sung, somewhat husky F vocal. Big synth, drums, piano, bass, a little guitar. Mostly written & performed by a somewhat unhappy woman (from the band “Hello Stranger”) with her man. A bit like later-era Golden Palominos or Material in production values, though this is based out of lighter pop. No covers on here, despite a few songs titled like other songs you may know. No FCCs. Ry Cooder plays on 2 & 7 (her man is his son)

+1.pensive, gentle. 70’s synths & backward vocals halfway through
2.rock guitar
3.upbeat poppy, even though some of it’s minor key.
4. mid-slow, joy of being alone
5.Pretty quiet vocals. Slow, deliberate.
6.80’s angst-pop
7.slow mellow falling out of love ballad, 3/4 time
+8.midtempo, happier sound despite the unhappy lyrics
9.quiet intro fade-in. slow, lyrical. Dirgelike drums start halfway through, quiet again at end
+10.Simple piano-based song, short, clear (like an interlude from This Mortal Coil)
+11.laid back instrumental
12.major key self indulgent intro & outtro. Middle is OK
13.post-catharsis piano ballad
