Album Review

Funky, African-influenced indie rock from South Africa. Atmospheric, bluesy, but also rockin... includes some rather wicked guitar riffs. Sounds like The Mars Volta, Sonic Youth, and Syd Barrett partying. But in Soweto. No FCCs. All tracks are great, and pretty different, but I liked number 3.

1. Begins spacily, then picks up. Truly rockin' song, with Afro-roots (and whistling!). [4:11]
2. More reggae feeling. Soulful vocals, echo-y instrumentation. Kwaito-esque bridge, bringing in an urban African feel. [5:49]
3. Funky, upbeat track. Again a definite Kwaito feeling, with a fast, epic finale. [4:28]
4. Very spacey and melodic. Loads of reverb... underwater music. [5:01]
